It's all here, in Malaysia

Though the Perak-born singer, dubbed the Malaysian Kajol (after the famous Bollywood actress), travels around the country mostly for singing commitments, she has learned to mix business with pleasure.

Besides enjoying the typical beach resort ambience, she also prefers to drive leisurely to her destinations as this gives her a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the countryside as well as to discover the local culture.

The sweet, diminutive Farawahida loves fishing and is adventurous when it comes to food.

Tell us about your most interesting travel experience.

An assignment that took me around Semporna in Sabah. It gave me opportunity to get to know the local culture and heritage.

How best do you unwind on your holiday?

Beach combing, swimming and staring at the sea at night. And of course, eat. My friends and I love trying local food and don't mind travelling just to have our favourite food.

What type of holidays do you prefer?

I love islands and beaches.

Who do you usually go holiday with?

Usually my travels are work-related but if it's solely a holiday, I will go with my family.

What can't you leave home without when you travel?

Enough cash, camera and swimsuit.

Which is your favourite holiday destination in Malaysia? Does it also give you the best holiday memory?

Sabah and Terengganu.

What's the best hotel you've stayed in so far? Why?

The Marina Golf Resort in Kudat, Sabah. What's interesting about it is the ambience. I had a sea-view room and I could just lie on my bed and watch the sea. It was amazing.

What do you hate most while travelling?

Unfriendly service, especially from front-liners. Not only that, some are plain lazy, not helpful and ill-informed.

Where next would you like to go?

Sabah. I love Sabah. Luckily, my work takes me there regularly.

Where would you recommend your friend to go?

The islands off Sabah. They can either choose those off Kota Kinabalu or those off Semporna.

What was the best thing you bought on your travel and where?

Shells or shell accessories I bought in Pulau Mabul. Also pearl jewellery in Kota Kinabalu.

What was the best food you ever tasted during your travel and where?

Every place has its own specialty. Since my favourite destinations are Sabah and Terengganu, the best food I've tasted are in these two States. In Sabah, I love the Bajau food in Semporna and Filipino food at the Filipino Market in Kota Kinabalu. In Terengganu, I love nasi dagang and keropok lekor.

Are you a compulsive traveller or do you follow your budget and itinerary carefully?

My work commitment does not allow me to go on ad hoc holidays. Holidays for me have to be properly planned.
