Some 16,000 delegates from 14 countries in Asia Pacific will gather in Singapore for the biggest corporate meeting to be ever held here.
The 2007 Herbalife Asia Pacific Extravaganza, which opens tomorrow at the Singapore Expo, will bring together regional Herbalife product distributors and new business partners, and will offer them a rare platform to exchange ideas and establish relationships.
Herbalife is a global network marketing company that sells weight-management, nutritional supplements and personal care products.
The four-day event consisting of workshops, meetings, seminars and teambuilding activities will see a special transformation of two convention halls at the venue into a single seamless convention space, with customised tiered seating facilities.
"We are honoured to help set a new achievement for Asia at Singapore Expo. With the largest corporate meeting in the history of Singapore and Asia gathering at our venue, it is a strong testimony to the world that Singapore Expo can be easily transformed into their finest dream venue for their events," said Mr Matthew Meredith, Group General Manager, Singex Group, in a media release by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) today.
Singex, the company that manages Singapore Expo, will offer customised food and beverage menus for the event, and has converted part of a convention hall into a food court to cater to additional F&B requirements. Singapore Expo's welcome, concierge and hospitality teams will also be on hand to help usher event delegates around the different halls and facilities.
"Hosting this event re-affirms Singapore's position as a leading MICE destination in Asia and the world. Singapore's vibrant and cosmopolitan landscape and exciting new leisure and entertainment products offer an unique and enriching mix of leisure activities to Herbalife delegates," said Mr Aloysius Arlando, Assistant Chief Executive, STB.
Apart from the event proper, delegates can look forward to an exciting line-up of activities which include a Herbalife-Style Day where 900 top performing distributors will get to spend a day at Caf? Del Mar on Sentosa's Siloso Beach.
The Asia Pacific Extravaganza will also incorporate a Herbalife Idol contest to raise funds for the Singapore Children Society as part of the Herbalife Family Foundation programme to support children's charities around the world. The Foundation plans to pledge some S$30,000 of the total funds raised.
"Singapore is an ideal location because of its strong infrastructure and connectivity which allows us to run large-scale events such as these. Furthermore, the support from the Singapore Tourism Board and various other entities has been a key factor in our decision to hold our events here," said Dato Dr. Ronie Tan, Vice President and Managing Director of Herbalife Malaysia and Singapore.
"Our distributors also love Singapore as it is an attractive destination with a myriad of tourist activities that brings out the best lifestyle experiences."
Four years ago, Singapore hosted Herbalife Asia Pacific Extravaganza 2003, which attracted 13,000 foreign delegates, and was the Republic's largest corporate meeting then.
