TOKYO - A SINGAPORE Airlines jet made an emergency landing in Nagoya, Japan, yesterday after shutting down one of its two engines due to a computer glitch.

SQ672, a Boeing 777-200 aircraft, landed safely, with no injuries reported among the 223 passengers and crew members on board, Japanese transportation officials said.

'The cause of the incident is being investigated by engineers, and the aircraft is expected to return to service once investigations are completed and components changed,' SIA spokesman Stephen Forshaw said in a statement yesterday.
