SINGAPORE - SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) is adding flights to Australia, Vietnam and Dubai but suspending service on two other routes, the carrier said on Thursday.

The changes come 'in response to changing patterns in demand for travel,' SIA said in a statement.

'The adjustments will reallocate capacity among the routes and result in an increase overall across the network.'

Starting on Thursday, SIA will operate an additional three weekly flights to Brisbane, increasing service to three times daily in July, the airline said.

Flights to Sydney will be raised to 24 times weekly this month, followed in June by a further increase to four times daily, the carrier said.

SIA said it will operate 10 weekly flights to Hanoi from July 2 and in May will increase frequency between Singapore and Dubai to twice daily.

In May, the carrier will suspend its service between Bangkok and Osaka and replace it with an extra daily flight between Singapore and the Thai capital.

SIA said it will also suspend the Taipei-Los Angeles service from October while adding three weekly flights between Singapore and the Taiwanese city. -- AFP
