S'pore Changi handled 6.7 per cent more travellers in Q1

IT HAS been a good first quarter for Changi Airport.

About 9.32 million passengers passed through Changi's doors in the first three months - up 6.7 per cent over the traffic recorded last year.

March was the busiest month with 3.26 million passengers handled.

On the cargo front, more than 466,000 tonnes of airfreight was processed in the first quarter, up four per cent compared to last year.

About 169,000 tonnes of cargo was moved in March, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore said.

As at April 1, Changi Airport is served by 80 airlines operating more than 4,340 weekly scheduled flights to 188 cities in 59 countries.
