SIA to fly A380 to Beijing on Olympics demand

SINGAPORE Airlines, Southeast Asia's largest carrier, will fly the Airbus SAS A380 aircraft, the world's largest passenger plane, to Beijing to meet demand before the Olympic Games.

Singapore Air will fly the double-decker A380 on one of its three daily flights to China's capital for one week in early August, the airline said in a statement on Wednesday.

The first A380 flight to China will leave Singapore Aug 2.

Thereafter, it will operate daily till Aug 8, after which service will revert to the normal scheduled Boeing 777 aircraft.

All timings are subject to regulatory approval and slot allocations, said SIA.
