Thu, May 15, 2008
The Straits Times

SINGAPORE can expect widespread showers with gusty winds to occur on two to three days in the second half of May.

This will take place in the pre-dawn hours and morning, said the Meteorological Services Division in a statement.

Short-duration afternoon showers with thunder are also likely.

But the MetService expects a few hot days early in the period, easing to wetter and cooler conditions during the last week of the month.

About two-thirds of Singapore experienced above average rainfall during the first 2 weeks of May.

The highest rainfall of 115 mm to 130 mm was recorded in the Kranji area.
