10 wounded in blast near southern Philippines airport

>MANILA, PHILIPPINES - TEN people were wounded in a blast outside an air base in the southern Philippines on Thursday, police said.

Mr Lurimel Detran, police chief in the city of Zamboanga, said a crude bomb placed in a pile of luggage belonging to people hoping to get on to a military transport plant had exploded.

There was no damage to the air base, he said. -- REUTERS
