Hop-on for a fun ride around town

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: If you've been to the city centre recently, you would surely have noticed the colourful, double-decker KL Hop-On Hop-Off tourist buses plying major downtown routes.

Operated by Elang Wah Sdn Bhd, the buses are part of a city-tour service catering to foreign visitors in Kuala Lumpur.

And although they are designed to highlight the wonders of KL to tourists, the buses themselves are marvels.

The first of their kind in Malaysia, the buses were constructed locally by Sin Hock Leong Coach Work Sdn Bhd on the Swedish Scania chassis.

Built to suit Malaysia's tropical climate, the buses feature expansive glass roofs with open upper decks.

Other highlights of the buses include their audio systems which offer commentary in nine languages, as well as Internet facilities, which make the KL Hop-On Hop-Off buses the first Wi-Fi stage buses in the country.

Suffice it to say, tourists can now enjoy KL sightseeing in a new light.
