I REFER to the letter, "Liquor at Changi costs 30% more" by Mr James Tan (June 13).

We have contacted Mr Tan to clarify the issues he raised and resolved his concerns.

With regard to the comparison of the prices of liquor made between Changi and another airport in the region, we would like to clarify that DFS does not operate at the other regional airport.

DFS in Changi Airport is committed to offer the most competitive liquor pricing in the region.

There are, unfortunately, rare instances in which price discrepancies can take place as a result of miscommunication of the manufacturer's suggested retail price.

We have clarified with the vendor that the price of the liquor item at DFS Changi Airport reflects the manufacturer's current recommended retail price, and the price posted at the other regional airport was wrongly set at an old retail rate.
