THE National Musuem, Singapore Management University and Zouk have joined forces to put on an inaugural Night Festival over the next two weekends.
And it promises to be an extravaganza of theatre, music, dance and visual arts in the heart of the city's arts and heritage district.
National Museum director Lee Chor Lin, who says nightlife should be more than shopping, dining and clubbing, sees the festival as a way to bring the museum to the people.
Working with various cultural venues clustered around Stamford Road area, the aim is to give the public a "party" well worth remembering.
Renowned Italian performing arts group Studio Festi held a sneak preview of its show The Dancing Sky last night. Headlining the festival's first weekend, The Dancing Sky features aerial acrobatics, dance, light and music across the National Museum of Singapore, Stamford Green and in the grounds of the Singapore Management University.
Studio Festi is well known for staging extraordinary outdoor theatrical events, including the opening ceremony for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin. The second weekend of the festival will feature an outdoor party , as wellas an eclectic line-up of activities and street performances in the Stamford Road precinct.
