SIA inflight supervisor saved the day
>I WOULD like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Singapore Airlines (SIA) inflight supervisor Peter Soong, who came to the assistance of my sister and me during our flight on board SQ631 on Aug 3.

We were on our way home from Bangkok, and we were given seats A and B. Seat C was occupied by a Caucasian passenger whose size was beyond description. As the seat was too small for him, he took up a quarter of Seat B, which my sister was in.

She tried her best to endure the encroachment, but half an hour later, she began feeling numbness in her right arm.

We informed a stewardess surnamed Lee about my sister's situation and requested a change of seat. However, she was unable to do so as the flight was full.

An hour later, we approached Ms Lee again and asked to speak to her supervisor. Within seconds, Mr Soong came to our assistance, and he immediately arranged for both of us to move to First Class.

Although it was about 30 minutes to landing by the time we got our seats changed, we were happy with and appreciative of the arrangement, as my sister could at last sit in comfort.

SIA is indeed fortunate to have such a dedicated employee who not only provided sterling service, but was also able to handle a difficult situation with sensitivity and flexibility.

Once again, a big thank you to Mr Soong.

Ms Angeline Koh Sian Leng
