Silkair cancels Phuket flights

SilkAir cancelled all its Phuket flights yesterday and today in the light of the closure of Phuket's airport.

Affected passengers in Phuket will be put on flights leaving this week, while those booked for departures to Phuket from last Friday to Sept 4 can either defer travel or choose alternative destinations, the airline said in a statement yesterday.

Meanwhile, Singapore travel agencies say they are prepared to deal with any fallout.
