FRET not if you are confused by all the road closures or diversions due to the upcoming Formula One race.
You can now pick up a handy guide on public transport and traffic information at selected bus interchanges, MRT stations, petrol kiosks, and at the Tuas and Woodlands checkpoints.
About 500,000 such brochures are available, detailing road closures, public transport arrangements and how the public can continue to access areas and buildings around the Marina Bay street circuit.
The map is also online at www.lta.gov.sg, the Land Transport Authority said in a release yesterday.
During the road closure period from next Saturday - 20 Sep to 2 Oct - pedestrians can continue to access the Marina Centre area via the underground CityLink, surface walkways and overhead bridges.
But on race days from 26 to 28 Sep, access to buildings within the Circuit Park, namely The Esplanade and Singapore Flyer, will be restricted to race ticket holders only.
Also on the three days, all MRT services will run until 1.30am. SMRT said in a statement yesterday that a total of 36 train trips will be added on the north-, east- and westbound schedules in the evenings from 23 to 25 Sep and on 29 Sep.
On race days, another 960 train trips will be added on the North-South and East-West lines from noon.
For public bus services, those plying the Padang and Marina Bay areas will be diverted to adjacent routes.
From 23 to 29 Sep, there will be a free bus service which links the City Hall and Bugis MRT stations to the Suntec City-Marina Bay and Millenia areas.
During the road closure period, taxis will not be allowed into closed areas, unless they are ferrying hotel guests who have a special hotel guest pass. The public are also encouraged to take a taxi from other taxi stands outside the road closure area.
Race weekend
Free shuttle bus services from Outram Park, Clarke Quay, Kallang and Lavender MRT stations are available to take race ticket holders to and from the vicinity of the Circuit Park from 26 to 28 Sep. These will run till 1am.
Dispersal time from the Circuit Park is expected to take up to two hours, and race goers "may want to patronise the various fringe events after the race instead of rushing off", the LTA said.
