If you don't have a pressing need to travel to Mumbai, postpone the trip, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

You should also avoid all non-essential travel to India. Those intending to go there should closely monitor news developments there.

If you decide to travel, you should register with the ministry at www.mfa.gov.sg.

This will enable the ministry and its missions in India to contact you and offer consular help in case of emergencies.

When in India, Singaporeans are advised to take the safety precautions. If you need help, contact the Singapore Consulate-General in Mumbai or the MFA duty officer (24 hours):
