KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Malaysia Airlines will have 20 extra flights for both domestic and international destinations between Jan 23 and Feb 1.
Malaysia Airlines commercial director Datuk Rashid Khan said the extra flights were to cater to the increase in demand during the Chinese New Year season.
"We shall monitor the demand and will offer additional flights if necessary," he added.
The airline has increased its flights in the Kuala Lumpur-Kuching sector by three, and Kuching-Johor Baru (both ways) by two.
There will also be three extra round trips between Kota Kinabalu and Hong Kong, and two between Kota Kinabalu and Taipei.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines' subsidiary, Firefly, is offering 40 extra flights from Subang and Penang to four destinations -- Kota Baru, Medan, Koh Samui and Phuket -- from Jan 24 to Jan 31.
Firely will also introduce a second weekly flight for the Penang-Medan-Penang sector from Jan 24 onwards.
