Getting free nights at a hotel is nothing new. What makes Millennium & Copthorne International's new promotion so eye-catching is that complimentary nights outnumber the number of nights you pay.

It will be giving away more than 3,000 room nights in its pay-one-get-two-free offer, where guests stay on Saturday and Sunday free when they pay for Friday.

Bookings have to be made from now till Monday at any of its 11 hotels throughout South-east Asia for stays from now till July 31.

The Hilton Family Asia Pacific is also enticing guests with free nights. Its 2 For 1 Holiday Sale means guests pay half-price: Stay two nights and pay for one or stay six and pay for three.

Bookings began yesterday and will end on Aug 31. The promotion covers Hilton hotels in the Asia Pacific and Europe.

Asia Pacific Hilton Hotels' director of marketing Alfie Yee says: "While we do recognise there is a cost to a promotion like this, we would like to see things in a longer term as there is a greater cost to the industry if people were to get out of the habit of travel.

"As such, we hope that this limited-period promotion will invigorate people's travel plans."

For its 14th anniversary, InterContinental Singapore is also giving away the second night free when guests book a deluxe room on a Friday night. The birthday promotion lasts until the end of the year.
