A RECENT air-transport survey commissioned by Londonbased aviation-industry researcher Skytrax saw Seoul's Incheon International Airport beat Singapore's Changi Airport to clinch the World's Best Airport title.
This was detailed in the report, 'Incheon airport edges out Changi' (my paper, June 11).
However, the poll results are not indicative of Changi Airport's performance as a whole.
So far this year, the airport has already bagged two prestigious awards, namely Best Worldwide Airport from Buying Business Travel magazine and Best Duty Free Airport from Australia's Luxury Travel & Style magazine.
Over the years, the airport has amassed over 200 awards.
Changi Airport is renowned the world over for its customer service, efficiency and, more recently, its architecture, with the opening of the state-of-the-art Terminal 3 last January.
A family friend from the United States who had visited Singapore four years ago remarked how 'beautiful and refreshing' the new terminal was on a fairly recent visit here.
So, Changi Airport, do not be disheartened, for you will always be the world's best in my and many other travellers' eyes.
