TAIPEI, Taiwan - A Chinese-Canadian woman surnamed Chen checked-in using another person's name on United Airlines' Easy Check-In Kiosks again on Monday, after having done the same thing in June 1.

Chen, a Canadian passport holder born in mainland China, was ordered to purchase a ticket on a flight back to Canada on Monday evening, and has been barred from returning to Taiwan for the next three years.

On June 1, Chen checked in at United's self check-in kiosk under the name of another passenger, also spelt Chen in English. She managed to pass through passport checks and immigration, and entered the departure area of Taoyuan Airport but did not board the flight.

Authorities were alerted by airline staff when Chen did not board the flight, and she was located after spending a night in an airport hotel. Chen was repatriated to Hong Kong.

Chen re-entered Taiwan on June 10, and attempted to pull the same trick on Monday. She was stopped at immigration and handed over to the airport authorities.

Chen has entered Taiwan seven times in the past six months, although it is unclear what she was doing in Taiwan or why she attempted to board United flights under another person's name.
