KOTA KINABALU: A tourist from Kuala Lumpur who wanted to watch the sunrise along the city's popular waterfront was abducted and taken on a terrifying ride before being robbed.

A group of four men grabbed the woman and bundled her into a car before taking her to Tanjung Lipat, about 12km away from here.

In the 5.40am incident on Friday, the men took RM950 (S$392.70) from the 27-year-old tourist.

Before leaving her there, one of them gave her RM10 for a taxi ride back to her hotel in the city's Segama area.
