Temperature screening at S'pore checkpoints to be discontinued

Temperature screening measures at all border checkpoints in Singapore will be discontinued with effect from Saturday, July 11, 2009.

Influenza A (H1N1-2009) has become endemic among global communities, and with localised community spread in Singapore, temperature screening at our borders is now less useful, said the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Home Affairs in a joint press release.

Temperature screening at the border checkpoints was implemented in the initial phase of H1N1 (2009) outbreak to contain the spread of the virus into the community.
