SINGAPORE Airlines has been ranked the top mainline carrier for the year by a leading aviation periodical.

Aviation Week placed SQ ahead of Lufthansa and Malaysia Airlines in the industry's leading annual rankings and competitive analysis.

Air Arabia topped the low-cost carrier category, while FedEx was the highest-ranked freight carrier.
