Just an hour away to a Kuantan beach getaway

Tugged on a scenic eastern coastline of Malaysia and girded by an expansive jade-green sea, Club Med Cherating Beach Resort (Kuantan) is great for a weekend getaway.

For leisure-seekers and nature lovers, a trip to this paradise would either be a 3-hour flight with transit from KL airport to Kuantan airport, or a seven-hour road trip up North from Singapore. Both options pose a problem for busy parents and city-dwellers.

Now, all this is going to change.

From July 22, Firefly has opened up a new one-hour direct flight route between Singapore and Kuantan with four flight routes every week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

This helps travellers cut down travelling time by 60 per cent.

The budget carrier offers a 20kg checked-in baggage allowance and complimentary in-flight refreshments with light snacks.

Prices for a 3D/2N Club Med Cherating resort stay starts at S$688 per adult and S$508 per child, inclusive of air ticket and airport taxes. (Rates applicable for bookings for Sep/Oct 2009).
