Besides Club Med in Hokkaido, can you recommend any other ski resorts in Japan with slopes suitable for children and beginners?
Theresa Theen
Most ski resorts in Japan offer a wide range of slopes for beginners and children. Many of them also come with ski schools.
For example, the entire central area of Gala Yuzawa near Tokyo is dedicated to beginners and families.
There are vast open slopes where you can get used to your skis and boards, and there is also a play area for children.
The Furano Ski Resort in Hokkaido also has varied terrain which caters to every level of skiers.
Some, like the Rusutsu resort near Niseko, have up to about one third of its 37 slopes catering specially to beginners.
