WOMEN who prefer privacy in an all-women environment when having a massage can do so at a female-only massage therapy centre in Desa Aman Puri, Kepong.
The Yogaero Studio offers various massage treatments that not only relax the body but also cater to different needs.
Yogaero Studio owner Tracy Ng, 38, believes that natural healing is the way to go.
She said those who experience bad muscle pain, particularly in the back, neck, shoulders and head, could try the Korean Channel Yoga Gua Sha treatment.
The treatment involves applying essential oils on the body and then scraping it with a ceramic disc to stimulate blood flow.
If you just want to pamper yourself, the hot stones massage is a good bet.
Heated volcanic stones, which are imported from Hawaii, are placed on the body to relax the muscles without having to use deep pressure.
Ng said she became interested in massage therapies about eight years ago.
"I had an ovary removed because of a cyst. After the surgery, my friend recommended that I consult a Chinese physician from Beijing who specialised in massage therapies and it really improved my health," she said.
Ng, who had prior interest in natural healing and had been reading up on it on her own, was intrigued with the methods of the physician.
"I really wanted to learn it so I approached him and he agreed to teach me. I even went to Beijing for two weeks to learn more," she said.
Among the other massage treatments to try out are the herbal salt ball massage and fire meridian therapy. Yoga classes are also available.
Treatments are priced at RM198, with a promotional price of RM128 for the first session. The Gua Sha treatment is RM128.
