The New Paper
You, too, can register at MFA website

You can eRegister at www.mfa.gov.sg.

Fill in your personal particulars and other details such as the number of people in your group, address of the place you will be staying in the country, and the duration of your stay.

In future, MFA plans to:

  • Inform eRegistrants that their registration had been acknowledged via SMS.
  • Now, they are notified only via e-mail.
  • The ministry also plans to extend eRegistration to handphones with Internet access.
  • Send press releases via SMS to Singaporeans who may be travelling to crisis-prone countries.
  • The service would be optional.
  • Let eRegistrants choose what kind of details they would like to be kept permanently in the MFA database.

This helps make subsequent eRegistrations easier.

Currently, the details of each eRegistration are expunged from the system a week after the eRegistrant leaves the overseas destination, and a new eRegistration form has to be filled in for each subsequent trip.
