SINGAPORE - SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) will increase its flights between the city-state and Sydney from April, the carrier said on Thursday.

A fourth daily service will be added on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays beginning in April before going daily in June to give SIA 28 weekly flights on the route, it said in a statement.

'We have been especially pleased with the increased demand for our Sydney services,' said Huang Cheng Eng, SIA's executive vice president of marketing and regions.

The new service will use Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, said SIA.

SIA already operates the Airbus A380 superjumbo jet on the Singapore-Sydney route. SIA was the launch customer for the double decker A380, flying the inaugural commercial flight in October last year. -- AFP
