SINGAPORE Airlines, the world's biggest carrier by market value, has been shut out of flying from Australia to the US West Coast, Transport Minister Anthony Albanese said.

Qantas Airways, UAL Corp's United Airlines and Virgin Blue Holdings' V Australia will remain the only carriers on the route, Mr Albanese said.

'The government has no immediate plans for additional third-party access to the route at this time,' says the Green Paper on Aviation Mr Albanese released today in Canberra.
