KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is a key player in the Tourism Ministry's plans to bring international conference delegates to the country.

Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said told a press conference last Thursday that the bureau would act as a one-stop centre to coordinate meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) activities.

Last year, Malaysia recorded a 23.5% increase in MICE tourists compared with 2006, contributing to 5% of the 20.7 million tourists who arrived in the country.

Azalina said that the bureau, under the directorship of Mohd Rosly Selamat, would spearhead a better coordinated effort to market Malaysia as the preferred MICE destination internationally.
